The UK nationals living in Spain before the end of the Brexit transition period that is before 1st January 2021 have the right to request Tarjeta de Identidad de Extranjero ( TIE card ). Tarjeta de Identidad de Extranjero ( TIE ) card explicitly states that it has been issued to the holder under the terms of the Withdrawal Agreement.
If you are a UK national and register for Tarjeta de Identidad de Extranjero application after 6th July 2021 and you were living in Spain before 1st January 2021, You must follow two step process inorder to obtain your Tarjeta de Identidad de Extranjero ( TIE card ). If you meet the requirements and if your application is approved you will be issued with the Tarjeta de Identidad de Extranjero -TIE. If you have children then they should be also registered to obtain the TIE Card.

If you have been living in Spain or have been resident for less than 5 years you will be issued a temporary Tarjeta de Identidad de Extranjero ( TIE card ). Your TIE card will be valid for 5 years.
If you have been living in Spain or have been resident for more than 5 years you will be issued a permanent Tarjeta de Identidad de Extranjero ( TIE card ). Your TIE card will be valid for 10 years.
You will have to renew the Temporary Tarjeta de Identidad de Extranjero ( TIE card ) month before or within 3 months of its expiry.
